To promote participatory democracy and enhance resident participation, the arrondissement of Plateau-Mont-Royal launched a process to help local citizens understand the global issues related to infrastructure and quality of life in their borough. As true stakeholders, the residents were able to collectively propose projects and determine which ones would be deemed priorities for the borough to invest in.

This initiative allowed the arrondissement of Plateau-Mont-Royal to pursue the projects that truly reflected the needs of the residents and increased their engagement and mobilization. The borough residents said they were pleased with the borough's openness and transparency.
