Bridgestone (usine de Joliette)

Bridgestone Canada Inc. (BSCA) is a an entirely-owned subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas Inc. whose parent company, Bridgestone Corporation is the largest manufacturer of tires and rubber in the world.

Strategic planning, public hearings with stakeholders (social acceptability), media relations and press event. Support for internal communications and brand image design for the Joliette plan (internal and external).

 

Sustainable development case study

Context

As a responsible company, Bridgestone places a good deal of importance on maintaining harmonious relations with the residents of Joliette. Following citizen complaints about odours, a committee of residents was asked to undertake olfactory observations with the technical and scientific support of experts.

Results

The mobilization and participation of various stakeholders connected to Bridgestone reassured the local community about the olfactory landscape around them and about the monitoring measures that were being undertaken. The initiative was also perceived as a demonstration of leadership and good corporate citizenship.
